The Las Vegas Chapter of ATD is governed by volunteer leaders who represent all aspects of the training and human resources development profession here in Las Vegas. These leaders utilize their management, marketing and technical skills to plan, administer, and implement the events, programs and projects of the Chapter. Through their guidance, the organization serves the educational and professional development needs of its members.
Sue Beyer is President of Operations Service Systems, a Professional Development and Management Training firm, celebrating 29 years in business. Sue’s focus is developing essential Workplace Skills in the areas of Sales, Service, Leadership and Teamwork. Sue is an Everything DiSC® Authorized Partner, The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ Authorized Partner and PXT Select™ Authorized Partner. She is a graduate of Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati and received an Industrial Engineering Certificate from Maynard Research Institute. Her strong operations and industrial engineering background differentiates her from traditional training organizations!
Sue served as V.P. Membership for the Chapter in 2016 and President–Elect in 2017.
Amanda Rael is a Learning and Development Specialist at Allegiant Travel Company with 9+ years of training experience. In her current role she analyzes, develops, designs and evaluates professional development training for the organization. Amanda is a twice certified Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt and is also certified to train “Love Em’ or Lose Em’” and “The MAGIC of Customer Relations”. Amanda found a passion for learning and development after being asked to assist with training in previous roles. In 2007 she became a full time trainer with Wyndham Consumer Finance and has since moved on to her current role as a Learning and Development Specialist with Allegiant. Amanda has lived in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. She is married with two children who keep her on her toes. She has many hobbies including: glass etching, weaving, baking and spinning wool.

Judy has more than 16 years of experience in training. She is currently the Senior Manager of Talent Development at Hilton Grand Vacations for the West Coast region. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling, along with trainer certifications from VitalSmarts, Emergenetics, Development Dimensions International, Career Systems International, Langevin Learning and more. Judy’s focus is on developing talent at all levels within an organization and she is particularly passionate about helping leaders and teams with their communication skills. She is married with two teenage children. Her interests include cheering on her children during sports events, reading, creative writing and scrapbooking.

Britne Jenke is a designer, developer, and all around learning nerd with over 10 years in the training industry and even more years as a hobbyist programmer. She works as a Training Systems Specialist for the Tesla Gigafactory, where she manages training technology projects for manufacturing and quality teams. Britne holds certifications as a Performance Consultant and Gamification Designer, and continues her quest for lifelong learning through MOOCs, reading, and writing. When she’s not at work saving the world or learning something new, you can find Britne at her Toastmasters club (where she also serves in leadership roles), playing the oboe in the Reno Video Game Symphony, or hiking the Nevada desert. She lives in northern Nevada with her two cats, Cordelia and Sweetie.

Karen Betz is Chief Customer Officer of Dale Carnegie of Nevada. Following an expansive career in retail management, most recently driving Digital Customer Experience, Karen joined the Dale Carnegie & Associates network as co-owner of the business in Nevada. Today, Karen partners strategically with companies to increase their capacity to execute and drive business results by leveraging their greatest asset - people! Karen and her team at CK McGuire & Associates (dba Dale Carnegie Training of Nevada), provide tailored training & development solutions by conducting individual and organizational assessments, skill and attitude evaluations and organizational analysis. She helps organizations take command of their results by improving engagement, facilitating change, and developing their people.
Sam is the Director of Learning and Development Solutions in the HR Center of Excellence at MGM Resorts International. She has over ten years of corporate learning and development experience, serving Fortune 500 companies internally and as a consulting partner. Before joining the corporate world, Sam served as a classroom teacher, program manager, and museum educator focused on experiential learning. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Lewis and Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Lake Forest College. She is passionate about creating processes and programs that engage and empower employees, grow talent, and build strong connections across business functions.
Jennifer Flynn is an organizational and learning and development professional with 15 plus years with several Fortune 50 companies. Her current role is as Sr. Manager for Talent Development at Levi Strauss & Co. At Levi’s she has executed strategies on developing front-line leadership capabilities that have significantly improved employee engagement. She has also created core competencies and learning strategies for effective on-boarding of new leaders and the successful upskilling of existing leaders. Jen’s philosophy is that systems and organizations work best when their people are at their best. Through her authentic approach, she quickly builds trust and strong networks that help implement meaningful strategies to achieve business goals while encouraging employee engagement. She is driven by progress, momentum, and getting stuff done through strong relationships. She currently holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Steve Hodgson, Director of Finance (2019)
Steve Hodgson has been a payroll professional for 25 years. He earned the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation from APA in 2001. Originally a member of the association, he joined the staff 13 years ago. He earned the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) from ATD in February 2017 after attending a year-long CPLP prep course with the ATD Learning System. With a B.S. in Music Education, he was originally a music teacher, and even while changing careers, training has been the continuous focus of his professional responsibilities. Now, he teaches payroll compliance and regulations instead of music theory!
