The Las Vegas Chapter of ATD is governed by volunteer leaders who represent all aspects of the training and human resources development profession here in Las Vegas. These leaders utilize their management, marketing and technical skills to plan, administer, and implement the events, programs and projects of the Chapter. Through their guidance, the organization serves the educational and professional development needs of its members.
Judy has more than 17 years of experience in training. She is currently a co-owner at The Facilitator's Box, a training and development company.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling, along with many Talent Development certifications. Helping a team of training professionals learn, grow and succeed through active mentoring, while creating strong partnerships and facilitating learning at all levels are pursuits that drive Judy's professional work.
She is married with two children: one currently at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, and the other a high school student in Las Vegas. She is an avid reader, loves creative writing and scrapbooking, hiking, and any opportunity to be social and learn!
Judy served as VP Communications & Social Media for the Chapter from 2016-2018, Interim VP Membership in 2019, and Interim President in 2020.
Steve Hodgson has been a payroll professional since 1991. He earned the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation from the American Payroll Association in 2001. Originally a member of the association, he joined the APA staff in 2004. He is currently their Director of Learning & Development. In February 2017, he earned the ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) after attending the year-long CPLP online prep course with the ATD Learning System. This certification is now the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). With a B.S. in Music Education, he was originally a music teacher. While changing careers over the years, training has been the continuous focus of his professional duties. Now, he’s responsible for payroll compliance and regulations instead of music theory!
Steve served as Director of Finance for the Chapter in 2019.
Britne Jenke is an experienced Learning & Development Agile Project/Program Manager, with nearly 15 years experience in multiple global industries and across the disciplines of Performance Improvement, Organizational Development, and Instructional Design and Development. She holds certifications in Talent Development (CPTD), Project Management (CAPM), Agile Project Management (PMI-ACP), Scrum Agile Framework (CSM), Agility in HR (ICP-AHR), and Performance Consulting (Langevin).
Britne is passionate about Inclusion & Diversity, Disability Advocacy, Accessibility, and Inclusive Design. She currently works as an Instructional Designer at Tesla and as a freelance Project Manager and Instructional Designer through her company Inclusive Pixelation. She is also pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Phoenix, as well as additional certifications.
Britne served as Director of Technology for the Chapter in 2017 and VP Technology from 2018-2020.
Kim Eberhart is a respected thought partner, and her approach to today’s marketplace continues to prove successful in leveraging people and resources to achieve bottom line results.
Kim’s career began with The Walt Disney Company, excelling in the areas of Human Resources, Hospitality, Retail, and Marketing, with core competencies in training, recruiting/talent acquisition, employee relations, and high-profile marketing events. Currently, her portfolio career includes keynote speaking, training, and executive coaching. She is a MBTI Practitioner and a certified resume writer. She has a passion for giving back and actively volunteers in her community.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resources, from Woodbury University, graduating Cum Laude. She also earned a Human Resources Management Certification from Penn State. In addition to receiving numerous awards throughout her career, she is proud to have received ATD’s Tribute to Learning Award in 2020.
Jennifer Flynn is an organizational and learning and development professional with 15 plus years with several Fortune 50 companies. Her current role is as Sr. Manager for Talent Development at Levi Strauss & Co. At Levi’s she has executed strategies on developing front-line leadership capabilities that have significantly improved employee engagement. She has also created core competencies and learning strategies for effective on-boarding of new leaders and the successful upskilling of existing leaders. Jen’s philosophy is that systems and organizations work best when their people are at their best. Through her authentic approach, she quickly builds trust and strong networks that help implement meaningful strategies to achieve business goals while encouraging employee engagement. She is driven by progress, momentum, and getting stuff done through strong relationships. She currently holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Jen served as Director of Membership for the Chapter in 2019 and VP Membership in 2020.
Ben has several years of experience in Learning & Development including over 5 years at Tesla as a facilitator and instructional designer. Currently, he is a program manager for the Global Environment, Health, and Safety Learning & Development team. Prior to joining the EHS team, he supported the Solar Division’s Customer Experience Team and developed the curriculum and training plan for expansion into Mexico. He is passionate about technology and using the right tool for the right job and is always looking for ways to improve the learning experience.
Jeff Scott Miller is an Instructional Designer at the Nevada National Security Site. He was introduced to the world of Corporate and Workforce Training while in the US Navy’s Submarine forcer 25 years ago. Since leaving the Navy, he achieved both a BS and MS Ed from Southern Illinois University in Workforce Education and Development. Over the past 10 years, he has worked as a Training Coordinator for the world’s second largest Borate Mine, freelance Instructional Designer, and a Technical Writer. In 2016, he answered a Facebook posting asking for former Navy Nukes or Submariners who have experience in developing, delivering, and managing training, and was hired to be a Training Coordinator. He has since moved from the Training Management Team to the Content Development Team, where he helps design and develop training materials for up to 5,000 government employees and contractors. In his spare time, he likes to prove to himself how little he knows about cooking and baking, and spend time with his two pugs, Cognac and Dixie. He has 3 Bucket-List Trips he wants to take: visit Australia and dive the Great Barrier Reef, visit South Africa and go on safari, and take a coast-to-coast and back AMTRAK Train Trip.
Karina is an Instructional Designer at ServiceNow for the Global Sales Enablement team focusing on developing learning content that is engaging, meaningful, and measurable. Karina started her career in the hospitality industry in food and beverage management before she transitioned into learning and development in healthcare. She earned her Masters degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and ATD Instructional Design certification.
David Prange, Director of Finance (2021-2022)
David Prange has more than 10 years’ experience in training and facilitating. He is currently a Regional Manager for Association Development with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), the non-profit, National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of bowling. He works to educate the volunteer and paid staff for the association’s nearly 1400 state and local affiliate offices. His focus is on bylaws, finance, and audit as well as board succession planning. Prior to entering the training and development field, David spent time both in the casino industry and in residential real estate. He is a very proud member of both the Southern Nevada and Nevada State USBC Halls of Fame for Superior Performance and spend several years competing with the greatest bowlers in the world on the Pro Bowlers Tour.
Karen Betz is Chief Customer Officer of Dale Carnegie of Nevada. Following an expansive career in retail management, most recently driving Digital Customer Experience, Karen joined the Dale Carnegie & Associates network as co-owner of the business in Nevada. Today, Karen partners strategically with companies to increase their capacity to execute and drive business results by leveraging their greatest asset - people! Karen and her team at CK McGuire & Associates (dba Dale Carnegie Training of Nevada), provide tailored training & development solutions by conducting individual and organizational assessments, skill and attitude evaluations and organizational analysis. She helps organizations take command of their results by improving engagement, facilitating change, and developing their people.
